About Rob Seemann MSW
Rob Seemann discovered his calling in life as a young adult. In college, he started volunteering at a safe house for runaway teenagers and a nonprofit that helped survivors of sexual abuse, including children as young as five. Later, he earned a Master’s in Social Work and became a therapist, where he saw mostly adult survivors of abuse.
He began to think, “This is depressing. Isn’t anyone doing anything to prevent this stuff?”
These days, Rob is energized about empowering kids through Protective Behaviors and preventing abuse from happening in the first place. Rob gets great satisfaction from knowing that a classroom—or an entire school—has kids who know how to recognize unsafe situations and find someone to help them.
Adults who take Rob’s workshops routinely thank him for his authenticity, his unconditional acceptance and his talent for teaching skills they can use the very next day—in all of their relationships.
Rob is well qualified to help kids recognize the difference between safe and unsafe adventures, having biked around New Zealand, kayaked in the open ocean north of Vancouver Island, climbed Mt. Hood and run the Chicago Marathon.
He calls his proudest accomplishments in life his daughter Isabella and son Joshua. On a Saturday afternoon, you might find him helping them explore their world with safe but fun experiences.
